An action packed tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Mumbai and here comes Surya (mahesh) to live with his friend (brahmaji). The direction of the movie was good. Even though the story line is predictable it entertains people. It's an all in all Mahesh Babu film. From beginning till the end you can witness the power packed performance of Mahehsh Babu. Kajal Agarwal was sensuous and pretty whenever required. In short everyone performed their roles well.

The movie is a complete entertainer and can be watchable. After watching this film, Kerala audience will definitely love Mahesh Babu.

I Love Me

Direction   :  B. Unnikrishnan
Writer       :  Sethu
Starring     :  Unni Mukundan, Asif Ali, Anoop Menon, Isha Talwar

After the grand success of Granmaster with Universal hero Mohanlal, B.Unnikrishnan is back with a young team. For the first time he is directing a movie for another person's script.

Both of them falls in love with Isha Talwar. But at a specific moment they realizes that things were no as easy as they expected.

I Love Me is a thriller movie which lacked pace due to the mistakes in screenplay. Sethu could have taken more care in the screenplay. B.Unnikrishnan's direction was not up to the expected mark. Anoop Menon and Asif Ali did a descent job. Unni Mukundan's performance was not up to the mark, but he was extremely well in the fight sequences. Isha Talwar's presence was charming but there wasn't anything big for her to perform.

I Love Me is a wasted opportunity due to the mistakes in the screenplay. The movie disappoint's the audience.

Kavya Madhavan is Shankar's wife and they have 2 children. Mammooty meets Rima Kallingal and they fall in love. Some unexpected things happened mean while and the second half of the movie is filled with serious emotional contents.

Mammootty is back. After a series of continuous flops, the actor is back with a big bang. A class and touching script by the magical writer Renjith. GS Vijayan executed the script well. Mammootty was not acting, but living as Bavutty. An excellent performance by the versatile actor. Shankar Ramakrishan did his character well. Kavya, Rima, and Kaniha also did their part well.

In short Bavuttiyude Namathil is a brilliant movie from Mammootty - Renjith combo. This audience expected sometthing big from Mammootty and he succeded in delivering it perfectly. Bavoottiyude Namathil is a must watch movie.

Da Thadiya

Direction       : Aashiq Abu
Writers         :  Syam Pushkaran, Dileesh Nair, Abhilash S Kumar
Starring        :  Shekhar Menon, Sreenath Bhasi, Nivin Pauly, Ann Augustine

Aashiq Abu is back after the grand success of 22 Female Kottayam. This time he tells the story of a fat man and his life.

The movie focuses on the life of a fat guy. Later  He decides to reduce his weight for a specific purpose. But at that time he came to know about an unpleasant news. From that very own moment his life changes.

Da Thadiya is a sweet, simple and lovable movie. Shekar Menon, the guy playing the lead role (Thadiyan) is definitely the highlight of the movie. He has done a marvelous job. After watching the movie you will definitely start loving him. Sreenath Bhasi who played the role of Thadiyan's brother also did a good job. Nivin Pauly's negative character is another highlight of the movie. He was the best choice for that character. Ann Augustine also did a descent job. The script could have been made a little more  deeper but it's enjoyable. Aashiq Abu.... "He is the man". His direction was superb and catchy. Once again he proved that he is one of the best.

Another highlight of the movie is definitely the climax. What a dialogue by THADIYAN!!!!! Da Thadiya is a fun movie that you will definitely enjoy. Go for it.

Karmayodha

Direction    :  Major Ravi
Writer        :  Major Ravi
Starring      :  Mohanlal, Rajeev Pillai

After Kandahar Major Ravi is back again with Universal Hero Mohanlal. This time the expectations of  the movie were at peak level because Mohanlal has delivered three consecutive hits.

Mohanlal is playing the role of an encounter specilaist who is fearless and he is know as Mad Maddy. He has his own style and he doesn't like to wait for orders from his superior officers. A group of girls were kidnappped from Mumbai and Maddy sets his task to rescue them.

Karmayodha is an all in all Mohanlal movie, especially for Mohanlal fans. His performance and dialogue delivery were mindblowing. Mohanlal was the power house of the movie. The twist before interval was really good. But there were a lot of loop holes in the script and screenplay, especially in the second half. The second half of the movie was very slow and dragging. The climax was good. Major Ravi's direction was not up to the mark.

Karmayodha is targeted mainly on hard core Mohanlal fans. They will surely enjoy the movie. For others it's watchable once if you go with no expectations but still it disappoints a lot due to the huge hype surrounding it.

Dabangg 2 is action packed masala entertainment movie which everyone will surely enjoy. Director Arbazz Khan succeeded in making a perfect Salman movie with all the essential elements.  There is nothing much to talk about the story. A typical story all set for a perfect masala movie in all sense.

Dabangg 2 is an all in all Salman movie from beginning till the end. His screen presence and dialogue delivery were outstanding. He does everything that we expect from Chulbul Pandey. We can't even imagine any one else doing this character. Only Salman can do it. He is definitely the power house of the movie. Sonakhi Sinha did a good job and was very attractive with her charm. Yakshi Faithfully Yours

Direction    :  Suresh Unnithan
Script        :  Suresh Unnithan

The movie tells the story of the relationship between a "Yakshi" and Young man (Thampuran) long ago in a village. But thampuran cheats the Yekshi and marries another girl. Yekshi takes revenge against the Thampuran by killing him. Years later a group of youngsters comes to the village for taking a film. They came to know about the story of Yekshi. The movie develops through the thoughts of these youngsters.

The looks created for Yekshi is good. There is nothing more in the movie. Bad direction and poor script ruined the movie. The performances by the artists were very poor and waste.

Yakshi faithfully yours is a movie which failed to impress the audience due to poor script and bad direction.

Kumki

Direction    :  Prabu Solomon
Script         :  Prabu Solomon
Starring      :  Vikram Prabhu, Lakhmi Menon

Boman [Vikram Prabhu] shares a great rapport with his elephant, Manickam and both lives together. Temporarily, Boman heads to a tribal village Aadhi Kaadu to save one of his well-wishers and due to circumstances pretends his elephant Manickam to be kumki and helps the villagers in chasing wildlife elephants from the village. Meanwhile, Boman happens to see Alli [Lakshmi Menon], daughter of village head and falls for her. As the story proceeds, there occurs a situation where Boman and Manickam have to chase a wild and mischievous elephant called Komban, which either destroys houses or crops of people every year.

Vikram Prabhu has given a convincing performance as Boman, especially his understanding with the elephant is incredible. After Sundarapandian, Kumki is the second film of Lakshmi Menon and the actress has once again proved her mettle through Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki. Prabhu Solomon has come out with excellent direction and screenplay for Kumki. The director has once again recorded a hit with Kumki, after Myna. Kumki has got one of the finest camera works from Sukumar.

Do watch Kumki, a not to be missed visual feast and a perfect paisa-vasool film.

Neethane En Ponvasantham

Direction    : Gowtham Menon
Script        :  Gowtham Menon
Starring     :  Jiva, Samantha, Santhanam

The King of romance is back after Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya. This time GVM joins hands with Jiva and Samantha for Neethane En Ponvasantham, a romantic saga.

The movies tells the love story of Varun (Jiva), and Nithya (Samantha). The film starts off when Varun joins college and he meets Nithya in the college culturals. They share a history of love-hate relationship. First, they meet when they were kids and then when they were in school. Sparks fly when they meet duing college and they are together for the next four years. The film tries to capture some interesting moments in their lives. Unfortunately, only some of the moments are engaging.

Jiva and Samantha did an excellent job. Varun and Nithya were safe in their hands. Santhanam also did a good job. But the script mainly focused on the fights between Varun and Nithya rather than the romantic moments. It was the main drawback of the film as the audience were looking forward for some unforgettable romantic moments. The music and BGM by Ilayaraja was not very impressive expect the BGM in the last minutes and climax of the movie. It was extraordinary and really impressive.

Gowtham Menon's direction was impressive but he could have made the script a little for impressive by focusing on Varun and Nithya's romantic moments rather than their fights. This time GVM failed to keep the expectations but did a descent job.

Matinee

Direction  :  Aneesh Upasana
Script      :  Anil Narayanan
Starring   :  Maqbool Salman, Mythili

Matinee is directed by debutant Aneesh Upasana starring debutant Maqbool Salman and Mythili in lead roles.

The movie tells the story of two people who travels in different direction and have no chance of meeting at all. But  destiny chooses them to meet. Maqbool Salman is playing the role of a young man who's dream is to become a film actor and Mythili plays the role of a young girl who is struggling hard to make a living. They met by chance and travels together to achieve their aim.

The director and script writer equally failed in presenting the movie well. The movie can be considered as a Malayalam version of Dirty Picture with no perfection and sense. Maqbool Salam's performance was OK, but has to improve a lot. Mythili concentrated more in skin show than in acting.

In short watching matinee is such a waste of time. But for those who want to experience Mythili's glamour show, matinee is strictly recommended for them.

Even though they are ready to do any job, their family insists them to get a job that suits their status. The families are not much financially sound to start a business of their own. They spend their time together in the library or the temple premises. Finally when the four of them were desperately in need of a job they decided to leave their place in search of a job.

At the same time another group of four members too set out with another aim. They are Arun, Shyam, Kanu, and Riya. Though both these groups have varied targets, they have something in common. Because of this reason, the two groups were followed by Sethu and gang. Thus the three groups which start from distinct places happen to meet at a particular juncture. There they encounter many problems.

Sreenivasan and Nivin Pauly did a descent job. The movie is written and directed by debutant Snil Ibrahim and he did a good job. Even though there are some mistakes in the movie, it can be neglected. Chapters comes under the so called new generation movie category of Malayalam cinema. Sunil Ibrahim really deserves a big appreciation for his work.

Hide N Seek

Direction   :  Anil
Writer       :  Vikram S Nair
Starring     :  Mukesh, Divyadarshan, Natasha

Solomon (Mukesh) is all in all of a restaurant and he is very font of playing hide n seek from childhood. Once he accidently gets in to the room of  married couple Naveen (Divyadarshan) and Gouri (Natasha) who are software engineers. Naveen is always bussy with his work and has no time to love his wife Gouri. In order to get more care and affection from Naveen, Gouri tells Naveen about his collegemate Niranjan. After hearing about Niranjan, Naveen starts to doubt Gouri. Solomon was hearing all this.

A group of youngsters who are very font of film making used to visit Solomon's restaurant daily. Actually they were desperately searching for a script. Solomon narrates the story of Naveen and Gouri to them. During the discussion of the movie Solomon changes himself in to Naveen in real life.

This is surely the worst movie released in this year so far. You will witness the worst performance of Mukesh in his entire carrier. Divyadarshan's performance was really awkward. He has no skills of acting at all. Natasha also has to improve a lot. The script and direction of the movie was really bad and senseless to it's core.

Khiladi 786

Direction   :  Ashish R Mohan
Writer       :  Himesh Reshammiya
Starring     :  Akshay Kumar, Asin, Paresh Rawal, Mithun Chakraborty

Bahattar  Singh (Akshay Kumar) is a local hooligan who helps the cops in Punjab police catch smuggled goods. His entire family, including Sattar Singh (Raj Babbar), Ekhattar Singh (Mukesh Rishi) have been doing the same work even as they run an akhada (wrestling arena) in their backyard. Due to their bad deeds, no girl in India is ready to get married into their family. (Akshay’s mother is a Canadian, grandmother a South African and aunt a Chinese lady.) In another setting, Tatya Tukaram  Tendulkar (Mithun Chakraborty) is a famous gangster whose sister Indu (Asin) refuses to marry the few decent boys who agree to get married to her. Mansukh (Himesh Reshammiya), who is a match-maker by profession, tries to arrange the marriage of Bahattar and Indu. A whole lot of lies and innumerable confusing twists later, the film manages to come to an end.

Akshay is a treat for all his fans. From action to romance, from breaking bones to dancing, he goes all out for this film. Yet, he fails to put up a convincing show, which I’m quite sure was not his fault. Asin looks stunning. From her newly-toned figure to her trendy styling and stunning make-up, the woman is a sight for sore eyes.

The story by Himmesh Reshammiya is a complex mix of innumerable films and it would be best if you don’t even judge it. Indeed, I’d like to believe he never intended to write a logical story or a telling tale. Direction is another field that the film lacks. While there is enough action in the beginning and in the end, the director seems to have get lost in the middle, where he resorts to mindless comedy and not-so-funny jokes.

If you are one of those who tries to make sense out of every movie, mind you, this is definitely not your kind of a film. The movie can only be fun if you leave your brains at home.

Madirashi

Direction    :  Shaji Kailas
Writer        :  Rajesh Jayaraman
Starring      :  Jayaram, Tini Tom, Meera Nandan, Meghna Raj

After a long time Shaji Kailas is back with a comedy film. As everyone knows the director has been continuously doing action flicks and now he is turning back to comedy films. This time he joins hands with Jayaram to try his luck.

The story plot of the movie is very simple. Jayaram goes to Madirashi to buy a cycle for his son. In Madirashi he meets a boy who's father was kidnapped and Jayaram helps the boy to find his father. A usual masala film with no freshness at all.

There were some comedy situations handled well by Jayaram and Tini Tom. They did their part well. But the movie was not at all challenging for Jayaram. Meera Nandan, and Meghna Raj were also in the movie as heroines having nothing at all to do or perform. The story and screenplay of the movie is very boring and old. The story is predictable and sometimes senseless. When Shaji Kailas was back with comedy track, expectations where high. But he failed in keeping the expectations.

Thousands of films with the same story plot were made in Malayalam and the film makers are still following the same steps. Shaji Kailas was delivering continuous flops and still he made a film with no sense at all. It's time for Shaji Kailas to rethink. At least he must give respect to people who are willing to watch his movies after delivering continuous flops.

The Hitlist

Direction   :  Bala
Writer       :  Bala
Starring     :  Bala, Unni Mukundan, Aishwarya Devan

The Hitlist is the first directional venture of actor Bala. The star cast of the movie includes Bala, Unni Mukundan, and Aiswarya Devan. Bala is also the writer and producer of the movie.

The movie tells the revenge story of a goon against some Police Officers. He makes the hitlist of eight police officers and plans to hunt them one by one. He kills seven Police officers and Bala is the last Police officer in the hitlist, alive.

The entire movie is stupid and waste. Boring first half and second half. Below average screenplay and direction is what the movie offers you. Bala's first directional venture is a complete disaster and the film even lacked a minimum standard.

Nothing more to say. Save your precious time and money.
